NEWPORT BEACH-BASED SYSTEM PAVERS NAMED TO INC. MAGAZINE’S “5,000 LIST”
Listed Again as One of the Fastest Growing Companies in the US

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – System Pavers, formally known as Systems Paving, Inc., the national industry leader in interlocking paving stones, was once again named on Inc. Magazine’s “Inc. 5,000” list. The Newport Beach-based company moved up substantially from last year, and was ranked as the 2,775th fastest growing private company in the United States for 2008. Inc. expanded their traditional “Inc. 500” to recognize companies, such as Systems Paving, that are making an impact within their industry.
Selection to the list for a second year in a row, puts System Pavers among the elite--a mere sliver of seven million or so private companies in the U.S. The “Inc. 5,000” was ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2004 through 2007. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the first week of 2004, and therefore able to show four full calendar years of sales. Additionally, they had to be U.S.-based, privately held, and independent. Revenue in 2004 must have been at least $200,000, and revenue in 2007 must have been at least $2 million. System Pavers had revenue of $33.3 million in 2004 with revenue continuing to increase annually. At the end of 2007, System Pavers earned $76.9 million.
After appearing on the “Inc 5000” list, many major companies reached their first formal level of public recognition. System Pavers now shares that achievement with successful companies such as Microsoft, Cold Stone Creamery, UnderArmour, Go Daddy, Intuit, Jamba Juice, Timberland, and Oracle, all recipients on the “Inc. 5,000” list.
“A strong sales and marketing approach has helped spread the word, and System Pavers now has a steady stream of customers in multiple markets,” Larry Green, CEO of System Pavers said. “Even as the home improvement industry is shrinking, our company is on track to grow by 25-percent this year.” We pride ourselves on our training, and those working in sales and management must attend an extensive training program at the “System Pavers University” in Newport Beach. To keep ahead of the curve, continuing education programs are offered on an ongoing basis.
To date more than 25,000 homeowners have chosen to work with System Pavers. The company has become nationally-recognized for revolutionizing the outdoor lifestyle industry by becoming the preferred choice for property owners’ hardscapes. Within the last five years, the company’s revenue increased more than 150%.
Another unique element encompassing System Pavers sales model is their one of a kind PaverImager® software. With the exclusive PaverImager® software, consumers are able to view an image of a finished project at the design phase. During an in-home consultation, a System Pavers specialist photographs a home to show consumers immediate images of different design and color options to help them chose interlocking paving stones that best suit their home.
Even in their early history, Systems Paving made a large impression in the Southern California community. They were asked to create the walkways at the Los Angeles Angels Baseball Stadium in Anaheim. At the entrance to the stadium, the company shaped a scaled baseball diamond out of a unique two-shaded green paving stone. The company specializes in home hardscapes, including driveways, patios and pool decks, but the fact that their work lives on at the stadium almost a decade later is an honorable testament to the longevity of their work.
